Our last meeting was a celebration of the humble haiku. This 17 syllable poem has a simple form, just 5-7-5, and is perfect for creating striking visual snapshots in just a few words. Here are some we shared...enjoy!
Through dry grass fox slinks
Rusty shadow seeks her cubs
Before the hunt comes
Forced or unforced joy
Thrusting purple/red – then baked
Such a sweet sour tart
Sunset on our lawn
Pigeons strut by fearlessly
Feathers on the morn
Such ugly creatures
Pedipalps and spinnerets
Such beautiful words
Toes flail in cold deeps
Footing lost on shifting sands
Undertow’s strong pull
Ten armed anglers
Crawling from their shy dark holes
Giant crabs out fishing
